Benefits
The workshop will help you to answer the following questions with regard to your organisation's e-learning strategy:
- What are we looking to achieve both for the business and for individuals in the business?
- Who will influence our success? What other factors will influence success?
- What new skills will we need within the learning and development team to take advantage of the opportunity?
- How will we engage the business?
- How will we know when we have achieved our goals? How will we communicate that success?
The workshop focuses on the six strands of the Towards Maturity model:
- Defining need: aligning to the business strategy; linking to relevant competencies and qualifications.
- Responding to the learner context: providing a personalised experience; ensuring motivation; contributing to a work-life balance.
- Responding to the work context: providing support through line managers; providing the right technical environment.
- Building capability: ensuring l&d professionals have the necessary skills.
- Ensuring engagement: engaging with learners, managers and trainers; managing the change.
- Demonstrating value: collecting feedback; measuring the benefits; communicating the benefits.
Format
The programme can be run in a number of formats to suit your requirements. A typical sequence would be as follows:
- If you have not already done so, you complete the Towards Maturity Benchmarking Survey.
- We spend approximately half a day with you identifying priorities and refining the programme.
- Participants undertake some reflective self-study activity using online materials that we provide.
- Workshop activities can take place over one or two days face-to-face, as a series of online sessions using a suitable web conferencing platform, as activities conducted at your own pace using a discussion forum, or by some mix of these.
- You develop an action plan to move your e-learning strategy forward.
- Follow-up activities and discussions can continue in our virtual learning environment.
The workshop sessions are highly participative and action-orientated, so numbers need to be constrained. On the other hand, it will certainly help if all the major stakeholders in your e-learning strategy are able to be involved.
Facilitators
The workshop will be facilitated by an acknowledged thought leader and commentator on all aspects of e-learning.
